Paze on File

Paze® on File is a secure card-on-file solution that enables merchants to save a customer’s selected Paze payment credential for returning purchases.

For subsequent purchases, the saved Paze card can be presented as a payment option within the merchant checkout experience. By integrating with Paze on File, merchants can offer returning customers a faster and more seamless checkout experience across web and mobile channels.

How it works

Paze offers Merchants a simple, and convenient way for their customers to provide them with checkout information. A Consumer’s Paze Wallet contains payment, contact and shipping information.

In practice, Paze on File enables merchants to securely save a consumer’s selected Paze payment credential for future use without requiring a token swap. During checkout, merchants can indicate their intent to save the selected Paze card by enabling the ‘pazeOnFile’ option in the Complete request. Paze then returns a unique PazeOnFileId within the secure payload, which the merchant stores and later uses to retrieve payment credentials for returning consumer transactions.

When selected, the merchant calls the Paze on File Business-to-Business (B2B) API using the stored PazeOnFileId to request a new secure payment payload. The API supports both Consumer Initiated Transactions (CIT) and Merchant Initiated Transactions (MIT). CIT requests return a payment token and cryptogram, while MIT requests return a payment token without a cryptogram.

Consumer consent is required to save a card from Paze on file with the Merchant. Prior to enabling Paze on File for any transaction or card storage, Merchants must ensure that they collect consent from a consumer to save a Paze card on file in accordance with applicable law, rules and regulations.
Contact and shipping information can be updated or augmented over time as a Consumer shops with Merchants that accept Paze. Customers may also update their contact and shipping information directly with their Issuer.
